The garbage problem around the earth
There are more than 300,000 pieces of garbage orbiting earth. Orbital debris is a growing problem around earth which has the potential to damage working satellites and crewed spacecraft, including the International Space Station. In low Earth orbit, the speed of these debris is around 16,000 miles per hour. "Even a centimeter-long screw can generate the energy of an exploding hand grenade."
